I carry a set of human toe nail clippers in my pocket when I am outside working with my birds. I use these clippers to clip and reshape beaks and toenails. Some overly grown beaks are the result of beak deformities and about the best that can be done for these birds is a short term fix so they can eat properly. Dean

I noticed one of the EE pullets has a hooked beak and not doing as well as the others. She can't completely close her beak. I have read up a little and plan to trim her top beak back a with dog nail trimmers. Sounds like the best process is to trim back just a little at a time until the beak can close. I would appreciate any advice on the subject.
