continued! them awake and eating.  Commercial chick raisers turn the lights on and off repeatedly.  Lights on, chicks wake up and eat.  Lights off, chicks go to sleep.  That would be regular lights, not red lights.  Red lights allow them to sleep even though WE can see them.  So after the bathtub fiasco I got a Ware Mfr.
