I live in Martindale, Texas. I have a site called farmerinthemartindale.com
Funny thing I sent a reply earliaer about the types of chickens I have and it never posted. do they censor this site????I did not say anything offensive. I have Show quality Barred rocks from the frank reese bloodlines, BLR Wyandottes from Bill braden line, Welsummers, Mottled Javas, GL Wyandottes and Pumpkin Halsey gamefowl from Greenfire farms. I also have white, coral blue and lavendar guineas, mallards and geese. I hatch my own birds, in a GQF. I have purchased birds from Ideal, they have decent hatchery birds, before but I have decided to do APA guidelines for the standard of perfection. I also have my flock of layers and they are an assortment of just chickens. I love them the most. I love Polish and silkies also and had them before. I decided to do 5 breeds of chickens and thats it. I will be going to the show in Shawnee Oklahoma just to look. Thanks Ruth

Hi Ruthie, where in Texas do you live? I'm Georgia and I'm down in Lower Alabama (LA) almost into Florida.

So here's the deal. You can tell us ALL about your chickens and nobody's eyes will glaze over, and we won't be looking around to see if there is a better conversation elsewhere, because here, chickens are EVERYTHNG.

What breed or breeds do you have, do you raise chicks with hens, incubator them, or not home raise chicks at all. Buy from a hatchery? I get my chicks from Ideal in your state.

I raise mostly Polish and Silkies with a smattering of other breeds.
