I've got two 45 gallon trash cans on wheels... they are roughly rectangular, dark green heavy plastic with tops which lock on. They are 24 years old, and I orginally used them for my horse grain mix, now I'm using one of them for the chicken feed. They hold 400# each. Nothing has ever been successful at getting into them when they are locked, and we have mice, deer, fox, racoon, opossum, and groundhogs as well as the horses, dogs and cats here.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Food in Barrels
Are you at all concerned about rats chewing through the plastic barrels? I would LOVE to store in the barrels. There are several sources around here where you can buy previously used pickle or olive barrels for $12 each!
