Your dogs jumped thru a fenced top on a pen? Doug wrote that the top of his pen is fenced. We had 2 huge raccoons and medium sized opossum in our live traps this morning. What is odd is that all 3 were caught in the front of the barns and coops. Usually they come from thru the woods from Hungry Howie's dumpster. Makes me wonder if they were living on H's dumpster for his tavern across the street and there was nothing they considered good in it. We've been averaging 1 to 2 every other day; catching 3 in one night is a bonus.

Oh you can probably get away without closing them up for a while, maybe quite a while, depending on where you live. But try to count heads regularly. That fence is no obstacle at all to a raccoon, possum, ferret or the like. It's just a climbing aid for them. When you start finding a few missing, you probably won't notice it at first, but they'll take one a night and then suddenly bring the tribe and get most of them all at once. I've had dogs get in there too, they just jumped a 5 or 6 ft. fence and had a ball. Chickens are SUCH fun to chase!!
