One of my barred rock pullets, hatched at the end of May, has developed a weird physical characteristic. Her tail is cocked off to one side, as if her backside had been given a quarter-turn. She's otherwise perfectly normal--not lame, bright-eyed, active. The only difference in the way she moves is a sort of "side-winder" gait, like a pacer, for those who know horse gaits (yeah, like Samantha the pacing goose in "The Friendly Persuasion!") I think it was about a week ago that I really noticed it--have to see her from in front or behind to really notice the twist in her tail, it'sot obvious from the side. I know she wasn't that way from the beginning. (Hey, at least I can tell the two apart now!)
Any ideas what might have caused it?
