Grass, plants, seeds, baby birds, grain, bugs, worms, fruits, mice, toads, nuts, snakes, eggs & shells, berries, meat off dead animals, garden vegetables, etc. are all on the menu and gobbled up at will. I'm sure I've missed some of the things I've seen my chickens eat but you get the idea. That large feed company that promotes feed "made from natural plant-based ingredients FREE of all animal proteins and fats" is just wrong.
