The book I read stated that a hen can store sperm up to 3 weeks.  If artificially inseminating hens make sure to do it at least 3 times to make sure it takes.  A hen can dump most of the sperm of a rooster she doesn't like. Isn't that funny? She may not have a say in which rooster breeds her, but she has a say in which rooster fertilizes her eggs!
PS  Roosters breed hens, people have intercourse.

How many Fertile eggs can a chicken have from one night of intercourse?  Is it one per mating or will sperm remain in the system for additional fertilizations?
