Jessi, You guardian angel was watching over you. We had one form over our pasture, right in front of me. It was coming straight at the barns when it veered off sideways as it was touching down.  I didn't even take shelter; stood there praying, Oh God, please not my silkies again."  I was just picking up the pieces from putrina and traveling all over the country replacing birds from the few people who would sell me nice birds. Well, one touched down 8 miles from here and if it had not turned direction, we would have been in its path.  It would have wiped us all out here.
