Heather ... we're in Naples.
Gators ... haven't had any yet ... though we are near 2 canals, so it could happen.
A couple years ago we had 2 - 4 ft. iguanas come to our yard and stayed about 6 months. No one would come remove them either. (I didn't have chickens then.) One eventually died in the back yard, during winter. The dog found it before we did, and rolled in it. Nasty, horrible smell and we had to bathe her.
I'm just waiting cause I know it's a matter of time till we get the huge pythons. They're breeding good in the Everglades so ...
A couple years ago, in the summer, we had several cotton mouths on our front porch.
Citrus ... we grow oranges, grapefruit & lemons (no limes yet, but have the trees), that's why I wondered about giving them to the chickens.
In April/May we should have Mulberries again ... the chickens loved those.
A woman I met, 10 miles east of us, has had trouble with bobcats getting her chickens. We've not seen any yet.
Our little feather footed bantam hen finally laid an egg today! Her first egg since Nov. 5th.
