The we in my post is my 19 year old son and no, he would not want to live out there without the comforts of home :)
The animals are MY thing, not his. He has some form of autism for which he will be going to therapy for once we get down there. He is actually paying for the move with his trust fund from my parents so really have to be nice to him LOL...
I will be at the cabin when the weather warms up or sooner if I can get the wood stove hooked up, but that will take me having a job for to afford the stove pipe.
The animals will all be with me at the rental. There is an outbuilding on the other side of the driveway where the rabbits and maybe some of the cats will be for now.
The goal would be to find a job and get working on getting something on my place as that is where I want to be. This place is a compromise since we cannot afford to stay here as Illinois is going under quickly and down there, it is okay to be poor. I am a manager by trade of either retail or restaurant so will find something down there with all the tourist spots. Jobs are not as tough to find down there as here.
Cathryn, I would get all those things, but money is like gold around here. I went to the store today and had to put stuff down as they were not necessities. This is the first month in a long time that I could buy the laundry soap I really wanted in about a year! I have been basically out of work for one and a half years now and living on around 100-200 a month that I was making doing odd jobs. And no, my son is not on any supplemental income yet. It would have cost us too much here to try to accomplish and down there, they will help us for free (explain that one to me LOL)
We do not have much anymore. We are making it though. We still have a roof over our heads, the animals always are fed, and I am moving to someplace that I want to be. I am just VERY thankful that when I had the money from my trust I paid off the land. That was 2 years ago and I have never regretted that. No matter what, we own our dirt LOL...

Jessi, You are on my way. Which place are you going to have your animals? You are not going to live on your 20 acres? How far is the house you are renting from your land? I'd get a propane frig, dryer, heater, lights, and go for the cabin. But that's me. Your other half, (we in your post), wouldn't want to live at the cabin? Cathryn
