they are great guards until they get killed/injured by the predators. If
you like llamas, they can be a good addition and may be part of a warning
system working along with LGDs. But most people who are into llamas will
tell you that it is quite common that the "guard llamas" are no match for
any of the larger predators (dogs, coyotes etc.). Those who swear by them
have just been lucky. The same is true for "guard donkeys".
Plus llamas don't bark, so you could be sound asleep and never hear a thing
while your animals are being attacked
