Hi Jean: Rock/Cornish will literally eat them selves to death. If they gain weight too fast they can develop leg and hip problems, well, what would be hips if they were put together that way. (LOL) liver and kidney failure etc. from too much fat . What you want is a controlled weight gain. Laying hens on the other hand tend to control themselves when it comes to eating.
