Re: [CHICKENS-101] snails, worms, and parasites

Pumpkin is a natural dewormer? I didn't know that.

The way I understand it is snails and slugs are a problem for chickens but not ducks. I have a water way behind my house so I have a lot of those creatures on the back part of the property. I put my duck pen between the water way and the chicken pens. The little creepers don't make it past the ducks to bother the chickens. I know that isn't a realistic solution for everyone but it works for me. I also occasionally use dewormer as well (as needed) and my chickens enjoy pumpkin in the fall as a "natural" dewormer.
