[CHICKENS-101] Re: Guineas In My Henhouse

Oh my yes, guineas will upset the apple cart and plot and scheme on making mischief all the while giggling and enjoying the carnage they create. They're a caution.

I gave up some time ago trying to keep guineas in with the chickens during the winter months, they now have their own digs and EVERYONE is much happier...including me! Guineas get on fairly well with the chickens during the summer months (as long as everyone is on free range during the day) but during winter lock up, they become an enormous pain in the 'vent'.

Also, guinea roosters that are penned with chickens will hound a chicken rooster to death, keeping him from food and water and constantly picking on him. Guinea roosters all seem to get on with each other but for some reason, they make a chicken roosters life a misery.

That said, if you can't make separate quarters, guineas are very good eatin' ;)
