[CHICKENS-101] Re: FIRST EGG

I have a feeling that my second turkey egg has arrived. When I went to bed Sunday night, Girl Turkey was asleep on top of the bbq pit. When I got up, she was gone. We spent half the day looking for her which was hard because I hurt my foot falling off the porch Friday morning. We never found her. Around feeding time at 6:00 last night she was sitting in the yard next to the truck (she loves the truck???).

Do she have no regard for our feelings? Does she not understand how much we worry when she is just missing? Doesn't she get that it is a dangerous world out there and we are just trying to look after her? And why don't those toms follow her and protect her instead of hanging around pooping on my porch waiting for me show?

So, I am up early, with the roosters this morning because I have every intention of following her today so I know where she goes and can check on her when I need to.

And why do those roosters (we have 11 of them, most of them silkies) start to crow at 4:30 when the sun comes up at 7:00? I have to be up at sunup to follow Girl Turkey so I can't tune them out and go back to sleep. Maybe someone can invent a snooze button for roosters or maybe just teach them what sunrise looks like?
