I have netting around my garden and it does keep the snakes out.

They get tangled in the netting and die.You dont need to go to extreme lengths. You can actuall y put the netting around the pen and not on the door and it works great.Also you can find it online a lot cheaper than at Wal mart.

I am confused.  Why would the multipurpose net kill the snakes?  It is easier to fence so the snakes cannot get in.  There are plenty of mice and bugs outside of the chicken pens for snakes to live on.
