Re: [CHICKENS-101] Prolific layers

These hens were hatched 9/10/12 and I got my first (small) egg on 1/07/13. It stayed one egg a day (total) for about a week and a half. Then it quickly (within 2 weeks) became 15 to 20 eggs a day. These range from what the store might label medium to jumbo. I'd say they average large to extra large. The super jumbos are always double yolk and I usually can count on at least 2 of those a day. Thankfully, I have some good customers, so I should be able to handle it!

I have serama pullets that have laid everyday, no days off, since they started laying. (You didn't mention size of eggs only prolific laying.) My white rocks and leghorns lay very well too.

Anyone else raise these Golden Buffs (aka Red Star, Golden Comet, Red
Sex Link, Isa Browns)? I really can't get over how many eggs I'm
getting a day and it's not even SPRING! Every day this week, 20 eggs
out of 20 birds. This doesn't happen to me...
