RE: [CHICKENS-101] Hatcheries

The biggest cost factor is many times shipping.  Try to locate a hatchery close enough to pick up the chicks or have a low shipping bill. We have a hatchery near us that does not even charge for the mail shipping to our area.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Hatcheries

Our 4-H group has an annual chick day We searching for cheaper quality chicks. We usually order from Mt. Healthy, Mt. Healthy, Ohio. Their chicks have always been very, very good. However, this is our primary fund raiser and with the cost of chicks and postage we are searching for other options. Our zip is 40143 and if any of you know of a source of chicks that would be cheaper please advise.
