Re: [CHICKENS-101] feed question

Nancy, I know I overfeed my chickens, but I give them all kinds of stuff. On cold mornings, I will give them a "mash" made of soaked dog kibbles, Oats, and eggs. I save any water I used for cooking vegetables, and soak the oats or dog kibbles in it. Our bantys lay more eggs then we can dream of eating, so I often scramble up a few to add to their 'gruel'. I also add grape seed oil, just a little. Protine is SO important. I also found a product at our Ag. center called "Feather Fixer". It's a pellet, and out banties won't eat it, so I mix it into the gruel.  I DO  have to  watch their weight though!  Little fatties!

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] feed question

I was given a bag of DuMor Show Poultry feed.
As you may remember, my Ladies are having some missing feather problems. We had adjusted the population of the flock and everyone seems so much calmer, peaceful and happier.
I am currently feeding them DuMor layer pellets and a bit of scratch feed.
May I give them this show feed? Just a little bit each along beside the layer? Will it help with the feather re-growth? Or with it being medicated, will just mess them up more?
THANKS!
