Four years ago our renter stole the old fashioned galvanized chicken fencing off of my chicken pen made of dog pen panel fencing while I was at school. I had hired help because of conferences and a family of opossums got in and killed my dearly beloved, gentle, beautiful, pendensencas. Even my helper cried over them. Karma has him now (I will try not to gloat over this; this same idiot would come over and kill my snakes too). I'd be careful with the dog pens because little opossums, little raccoons, small fox, et... you'd be surprised what can go thru chain link. I have double fencing on my pens with hardware cloth or another layer of fencing along the bottom making 4 layers, and wild bird netting. Some pens even have fencing on top of that to keep out snakes so they cannot get in, inbetween the layers of wild bird netting and eat my teeny silkie and serama chicks. Even then I do not trust my barn windows open with out fencing screens.
If one can afford said, we use dog kennels or panels for kennels , hens locked up at night, trees were removed, etc. and the way the about 200 foot of kennels are set up all open it is angled so a hawk will have a difficult time landing, but, I know racoons etc can climb, fencing. So far in 5 years we have not had a hen killed.

Also, we have a shed, built last summer, we lput cinder blocks under so no creature can dig into the floor which is made of wood.

Did you check out automatic photo albums in Yahoo Groups?
When you send mail to your Yahoo Group with photos attached, a photo album with attached photos is automatically created. When your group members reply to the email with photo attachments, those photos are added to the 'photomatic' albums automatically!
