Thanks, most helpful...  So I could reasonably expect a week's worth of fertilized eggs from a two or three day's dalliance (assuming the hens find the roo acceptable)  Pretty sure I could let him visit for a couple days and have him home before the town got involved.  Keeping him in the basement overnight would help cut down on the 5AM alarm clock issues. :)
