Ok, call me Blond - don't be offended if you are one, so am I.

So is the hole you cut, for the purpose of the chicken putting it's head in it so it can get at the food?
  If so how does the chicken get a the food at the bottom - unless you cut it as a big hole???

Now for the "You can fix them to handle more feed by putting a piece of plastic pipe in the top of the container and cut a hole in the pipe so grain can feed out of it." - I'm confused - here is my blond moment.  So you slip in a 1 inche pipe at the top.  How can the feed "go up" the pipe from the bottom and how exactly does it feed????
