For my chicks I put the waterers up on 2x6x6 blocks. They dont get them as dirty so fast. I keep cleen waterers soaking in a bleach water solution and change them when ever needed.

I went to backyardchickens.com and clicked on 'waterers' and got some great ideas, mine auto fills, it is an old laundry soap bucket.
