[CHICKENS-101] Re: Ivermectin

 

I should have mentioned that when *injecting* Ivermectin in animals requiring a small dose of the drug, the use of propylene glycol is necessary to properly suspend the drug in order to get the exact dosage. When *injecting* Ivermectin, exact dosage is necessary to prevent overdosing.

However, when using Ivermectin for *oral* flock use, propylene g. is not necessary. As I stated, diluting and dosing in this fashion is not exact which is why drinking water infused with Ivermectin is dosed for two days and then repeated again in 7-10 days to ensure enough of the drug has been administered. When injecting Ivermectin, one dose is all that is required in most cases but may be repeated in 30 days.
