I agree that when diluting Ivermectin for *injection*, propylene glycol must be used however, I have diluted it in drinking water for years without a problem. I just stir it well after adding it to drinking water and it mixes nicely.
Of course this kind of dosing is not as accurate as single dosing but it's still effective. If you don't have a lot of birds, another avenue to de-worm is to use Eprinex which is a pour on Ivermectin for cattle or simply apply Ivermectin 1% topically to the skin. This is often done in the rehab setting (instead of injection) for mange and/or parasite control in wildlife in the same fashion as Frontline etc. is used.
