[CHICKENS-101] Re: Critter Tales: the cat bite (a bit OT)

> Moral of the story: If you get bit by a cat and it penetrates the skin,
go to doctor. The bite can cause a lot of infection and requires
attention within 24 hours or less, even from just a little "boo-boo" on
the finger. <

Ditto if you fall and "may have" dislocated something. I fell and dislocated my shoulder, broke my humorous
and shatter my scapula a couple of years ago. I had a routine doctor's appointment three days later, so I waited to have him look at it. He sent me to the emergency room immediately (do not pass go; do not collect $200) and the emergency room doc gave me bloody hell for not getting it attended to sooner. I guess the longer something is dislocated, the harder it is to shove back into place. They had to give it 3 or 4 tries and call in an orthopedist to finally do the deed.

They asked me, "Didn't it hurt?!?!" Of course it hurt, I fell down and thought I'd stoven it, but it never occurred to me that anything was actually broken or dislocated. Whole thing seemed like a tempest in a teapot.
