So I'm gonna update you with what has happened lately. I got rid o my pekin ducks I rescued last fall, they were so beautiful when I was done with them. I would have kept them but they didn't produce a single duckling, so I sold the hens and butchered the drake. Instead of the Pekins I have Muscovy ducks. I got them from a good friend of mine that breeds them, and has for years. Their ready to breed next year. My turkeys produced three poults this year, not really great, two died of unknown causes, the last is healthy. I'll be taking my turkeys to the Huttierties to butcher soon. I'm looking for a good breed to replace, for 20-30IB birds dressed weight, any suggestions? My Danish are great sold 99% of my chicks, some breeding stock. A great year. I have a line from the states and will be getting a German line soon for next year. To include I inherited Isa hens from a friend which I have come to love, their sweet and lay nice size eggs. I decided to hatch out an egg from them an isa Danish leghorn cross. She'll be laying eggs anytime now. I got some silver leghorn pullets from the states, and hoping to get a German line rooster from the only breeder in Canada of them. We'll be partnering up with this breed. My horses, sheep, llamas, cats and dogs are doing great.
