Tumors are also classic for lymphoid leukosis.  I had a friend whose chicken had some weird, rough skin looking tumors that were quite large and the testing came back LL.
The links below cover both; but because of variations in tumors (neoplasms), they may not look like the ones the chickens being discussed have.

I believe, though I could be wrong, that tumors are classic for Marek's disease. However, you would likely have noted other symptoms of this disease (tipsiness, etc.) while the chicken was still alive...
