I am sure that there are a few cats who will go after chickens - we had a cat growing up who would catch grown jack rabbits and bring them home alive. However, I would say it is rarer to happen than hawks, owls,fox, coyote, dogs, fishers, weasels and raccoons.
Either way, a cat is going to leave evidence of it happening.

When I had to shoot a feral cat for killing chickens, I caught him in the act. He was feral though, not a pet.
