[CHICKENS-101] Re: rough mating & the bald spot

 

I could post a pic of the nast mess our rooster made. sores the size of a baseball! we faithfully sprayed the area with a diluted mix of water and hydrogen peroxide. pat dry and then neosporin. 2x a day and after several days just repeatedly flushed off yuckies and neosporin. takes quite some time to heal but they are good as new. Now the roosters spurs are so long they dont get hurt. well he is the only man here too! reading great info in a book called backyard poultry and says never let a rooster mount a hen in your presence. It is considerd disrespectfull. I thought I was doing wrons shooing him off, lol
