RE: [CHICKENS-101] Pictures Of First Hatch - So Far

Damn! Sorry to hear that, Georgia! I know how I panicked when some of the itty bitty keets escaped from the pen, yesterday and ran towards the chickens. Those chickens are MEAN to babies! We fixed the escape route and put them all back in and counted. 11 still there! (sold 5 Sunday) I have someone coming for four tomorrow. Guinea keets are selling quickly!

I wonder why the hens do that? I can almost understand roosters killing off babies that aren’t theirs, but why would the hens.

Laura, my cutest baby chicks were all killed by one of the hens. She would go over her barricaid, into other hens areas and kill the chicks. That hen is lucky to still be alive herself!

So cute! My little chipmunks died……..I think they were both OE Games. Those little ones seem so much more fragile—unless mine were just so little because they had something wrong. Not sure……all my Games came from Ideal, but I think the OE are more fragile.
