[CHICKENS-101] Urban Chickens

 

This last weekend, here in the Tacoma area, there was an Urban Chicken Coop tour. A nursery and feed supply store promoted this tour. We visited 9 coops all within the city limits.. and actually close to Pt. Defiance Zoo and Aquariam. Was a great way for homeowners to learn and see different ways of keeping chickens in their backyards. The coops ranged from the bare minimum, to the extravagant, to the modern with ingenious feeding station and watering. Was fun to see all the different ways people had incorporated a coop into their city landscape. I am jealous of some of the fancy coops and now my husband and I are looking at changing things around in our yard to build something that both functions well and looks pretty.
