[CHICKENS-101] Salvaged Dresser

 

I got a nice size chest of drawers off of Freecycle last week.  I'm going to use the drawers for nest boxes.  The carcass was still sturdy and nice wood.  Tonight we put wire on the bottom and then framed around that with 2x2.  Then we put little leg risers so I can keep paper under it and pull it out to clean it.  Tomorrow we are going to build an A frame top for it where one side opens as a door.  We can then hang our light in there and adjust it up and down.

I still need to get some plywood for the top though.  I couldn't get that in my little car.  I did get the 8' 2x2 in there though!  We filled it with shavings and have the temporary top on it with the light.  They are happy with the extra room.

I got 36 in my shipment and they are all doing fine except for one little tiny Red Frizzle.  I still have it  in the kitchen in a small cage. It's on a towel and it's own light.  It's so tiny.
