[CHICKENS-101] Re: Guineas

Same here and I've had them for 8 or so yrs now.  People that visit don't even know that I have Guineas they're so very quiet, unless they see (and laugh) at the "prehistoric looking" birds running around chasing each other.
Now yesterday - I was transplanting some rose bush suckers/starts (a 'preditor-proofing' idea I got from I think this list) and some peppermint plants along the side of their coop.  They were all inside getting out of the hot sun at the time, and every time they'd see my head pass close by their window they'd all squawk up a, thankfully very short, storm.......but then quit right away when they didn't see that "not normal happening" through their window anymore.  To me that was a chuckle - preditor-proof warning working fine, check!

Usually guineas are rather quiet, you wouldn't know they are there HOWEVER, if something or someone unfamiliar to them comes into their territory they will most certainly let you know with their alarm system.
