<<When I go out to the coop they always come running to see what treat I have--it is fun>>
When I go out *anywhere!* They are sure I have goodies... this morning it was the tomato skins and seeds from making 7 quarts of tomato soup. It's really gotten to be a matter of humor when someone drives in, and I walk out to say hello, looking like the Pied Piper! (They also took great interest in the repair of one of those huge tree-cutting machines they've been using up in our forestry land--it had been parked in the horse pasture while it was fixed. Not to mention "helping" DH with the lawn mower, and me with painting the cellar bulkhead. Like having two dozen three-year-olds.)
I did put up a length of chicken wire around the brussels sprouts, though... and more over the spinach and fall broccoli. Little monsters. (I almost fenced the cat *in* too--she was curled up in the middle of the brussels sprouts!)
