[CHICKENS-101] Roosting....new coop issues

 

I am watching this discussion...my hens have always slept in their nesting boxes.

More like, they all huddle in one nesting box.  We only have 3 hens.

We got a new coop this week.  It has a "gang plank" leading up to the coop.

In the coop, they have a roost and 2 nesting boxes.  Unfortunately, they tend to

huddle under the coop at night, not even going into the top for roosting.

I just don't know how to teach them what they are supposed to do?

They are due to begin laying in the next few weeks, so whatever we do, we need to

do it sooner, rather than later!
