I wouldn't use peroxide as it kills all the good and bad bacteria and makes the healing time longer. I would clean it with warm soapy water and rinse it out really good. Then put neosporin in it to help it heal.
Hope that helps,
Mickie

Subject: Re: [CHICKENS-101] Stupid chicken pain relief help
Marla, B complex is usually what is used for stress for birds. B complex with a bit of honey dissolved in water. 80mg of aspirin per cup of water is what I use for my serama, Wheaties, with congestive heart failure. I read the dose somewhere and don't remember where or I'd give you a link. Peter Brown told me I can give Wheaties an 80mg baby aspirin a day. Hope this helps and thatyour hen is ok. Re her puncture wound: if you can, boil it out once with peroxide, then use a syringe w/ no needle and see if you can push ointment or blu kote into the puncture hole.
