Likely one of two things is happening. 1.) some hens are using the nest boxes as roosts because there is not enough roost space, either in total linear distance, &/or physical separation of the roosting bars, to allow for the various peck order sub groups.

 

Or (most likely)

2.) One or more Omega or Psi birds are not allowed on the roosts and overnight in the nest boxes.
