Can you use Vetracin on chickens? It's a wonder drug on horses and dogs (and human, lol). Doesn't burn them either. I used it last winter on a mini mare of mine that somehow jabbed a stob in her hind leg in the trap, and she had a pretty good hole there, and it healed up without even turning the hair white.

I wouldn't use peroxide as it kills all the good and bad bacteria and makes the healing time longer. I would clean it with warm soapy water and rinse it out really good. Then put neosporin in it to help it heal.
