Lori, If he is really thin....can you empty his crop before you give him more food? Is there someone there to hold his head down while you hold him upside down and quickly empty his crop? Get it all out and catch it in something so you can tell if it is soured or something is plugging him. His being so thin says he has been sick for awhile and hiding it from you. Tubing is easy. When he on a counter looking at you. his esophagus is on your left and the tube goes down the left side. You can feel it in his throat and crop.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Rooster with Prolapse
OH MAN, I fear I'm gonna loose Romeo, I did manage to get about 7ml dropper full of water in him last night but his crop is about the same a quarter size, when I held him last night to get the water in him, he is sooooo skinny, nothing but bones.
So I have this rooster that is nothing but bones with a large crop. Peter emailed me and would like me to get water in him by a way of tubing feeding. OMG, I have NEVER done anything like that before, WHOLLY crap.
Something seriously is blocking him and I don't think Water is going to help. When he was OK, I would give my chickens crack corn as a treat but they only got this once a week, I know for a fact, crack corn is NOT going to break up and pass threw by means of water. I'm just lost here, I got one problem solved just to have a more painful problem.
I also noticed a couple of things last night while holding him trying to get 7 ml of water down him, he is loosing his crop feathers, yeh, his almost naked, I'm not sure if it's because of me massaging him the wrong way or to hard but he feels like on of the broody hens. I also noticed he felt VERY warm, almost like he has a fever...
I don't know why Peter doesn't want to try something else besides just water only? I guess I will call him to find out.
