Charlene, Coop on the concrete and their run on the soil/grass. No sense in worry about grass coming up for the run, it'll only last a day or two at the most. I have to fence off little areas for green to grow in their pens and haul it in with the skidsteer or buckets on a dolly.

I wanted them to be able to dig around with a border around the coop and that can not be dug through. We had to regrade our yard and we were not able to get the yard rolled and seeded before the snow made an appearance so hubby thinks on the cement pad is a good option until the yard is in.
