Re: [CHICKENS-101] How to manage free range egg laying in odd places?

PS  Allen, Don't mow all of your yard, plant berry yielding shrubs, grape vine tangles, and areas for protection for your chickens.  I'd also add a layer of taIl chicken wire to your fencing, going out into an L at the bottom of the outside fence of your yard. Hog ring it on.  We had a small hawk get into my barns/pens.  First time in almost 50 years of raising chickens; it killed my show champion calcio, still banded #88, a rather large sized silkie rooster who was a big gentle baby. Owls love chickens too.  Make sure they all go into the coop at night.

They love fresh chicken and you'll be amazed at how large a chicken a small chicken hawk can kill.  Predators will find you eventually. :(
