Exactly my thought – I haven't a clue about keeping chickens other than what folks tell me about their experiences. Books and websites are great – but there is nothing better than "hearing it from the horse's mouth". Again, if someone can point me to quality information/books, I'll certainly be happy to do some reading – which I have already started to do. I'm enjoying hearing the discussions and experiences and getting ideas of what breeds I want to look at further even though I'm a ways off from actually owning anything. I do like to get as many ducks in a row as I can with any endeavor I undertake – especially considering that any chickens I do get most likely will be "house chickens" since I won't feel 100% comfy with them living outside 100% of the time.
