Watch out for hawks. They love fresh chicken and you'll be amazed at how large a chicken a small chicken hawk can kill. Predators will find you eventually. :(

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] How to manage free range egg laying in odd places?
My 1 chicken and future chickens run around my house. I put them in the coop about 5PM and let them out about 6 or 7AM.
I'm sure I'm missing some of Hannibelle's eggs. How do people manage this. I keep the coop door open hoping she'll go back there to lay, but I'm sure she finds the rest of the hard far more attractive than her nesting coop. Does one locate alternative nests? or Lock her up at a particular time of day? Any solutions to this? I'd hate to miss her eggs.
