Goood Morning, Gothy.  I agree.  I am an avid reader and always check out information before starting a new project.  It is so nice to be able  to contact a group member or put a question before the entire group if I need a quick answer.   It is also good to get several opinions because our experiences are different, as our living situations.   It's also good to receive assistance and information from others in our geographical area.   What works for me in Georgia may not work for you yankees. 

 

I so enjoy your posts.   Sometimes I feel like I am right in your back yard.  I don't have to agree with everything to learn and enjoy all my peeps.  It helps to keep an open mind and

enjoy the different places peeps are coming from.  Some of the posts, while containing helpful information also bring a smile to my face and a lightness to my heart just by the words that are used.

JMHO.

Books are great, the internet is great. But. Needing a question answered, no matter how "trivial" it may be to someone, asking a group is a quick way to get an answer. Be it a web site, experience or whatever.

Some folks, like myself, don't know a lot of  "real" people who can/would trust with questions about our animals. I've found this group invaluable over the last 5 years of being a chickeneer.  It gives a sense of community, for lack of a better word. 

And I appreciate the Cafe group also, because I'm getting a lot of info and people's experience in dealing with animals other than chickens. And it's not because I mod that group, that I say that either.

Just my 2 cents.
