Hi Janet,  You did your best and she knows you were trying to help her. I've had a few animals in my lifetime both tame and domestic that have passed on despite my round the clock  care. I' ve napped thru the nite in order to tend to some of them and to offer words of encouragement only to have them pass. We do our best, that's all we can do. Sorry for your loss. Bonnie

I didn't know it was a fatal wound until she died.!  We were nursing her and she seemed to be recovering from her wounds, eating, pooping, etc. then I check on her and she was dead  Believe me if she looked like she were in any kind of distress we would have put her down.
