We've been looking at that idea too. Would love to see pictures when you're done. I can't believe the price tags that some of this chicken stuff carries! Have you looked on ebay lately? A lot of handmade items are selling for more than "store bought" and don't seem to have a lot of advantages either.

Good idea, so I look at the price, 2@ $49.00 WOW
So I look around I got buckets outside, after the 1st one it got faster. Plunge cut with a sabre saw, and wash them out. Took me all of 20 minutes to make 3 and some of that was getting the saw and drawing on the lids with a straight edge.
Now I'm figuring how to cut the back so I can mount it, and still retrieve the eggs from outside the future hen coop.
