Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Starting Coop Construction Today any advise NOVICE!!!!

This heated water recommendation reminds me of our winter we just had.
I was going out to my coop at midnight and again at 4-ish am - both times with a boiling hot tea kettle in tow and pouring it into the water container for my birds.
I would also fill a milk jug with hot water and immerse it in their water.
We live in South central Texas, so I can only imagine how many MORE trips I would have made in colder climates.
I had a heat bulb for them and I WILL have a water heating device before winter sets in again !
Send photos of your new coop, I know what a fun day it is to have it all finished and little chickens with their suitcases and bonnets on come moving in.
Smiles, Marilyn

Hi John. The only thing I can think of is electricity if you haven't already planed on it. A heated water container makes life so much easier.
