Those are the ones I use also and they work great. The instructions are to put them 20 feet from any dwelling or building. You want to draw the flies away from where they are being a problem, not encourage more flies to show up.

You will use at least 4 of them immediately because they attract every fly. But after that you will use maybe two in a 1/2 month. Use strong string to hang them up, put it someplace downwind, and when done take a zip lock freezer bag and slip under the sack, clip off the string, and push the yellow middle down, close the zip lock and throw in the trash. Viola'. I used all sorts of fly atractants and this seems to work the best for me. Gets in the deer flys which are HUGE. Ginger
